( a Marceline / Princess Bubblegum fanfiction. This is a Human! Alternate Universe where people from the Adventure Time World are humanized and attending high school.)
Chapter One
"Marceline, don't be like that. You'll love your new school." My father said in his happy-go-lucky, reassuring voice. I groaned. He knew I never wanted to move here, I was perfectly fine back in Colorado where I even had my own band. But no, he wanted to move me out of there for his 'job'. I didn't even know where he worked or what he did. He would never tell me, and he'd never talk about it.
"Sure, dad, whatever." My eyes were fixed out the car window, staring at the building I'd be stuck in for eight hours a day, five days a week. This sucked. I grabbed my checkered red and black bookbag and opened up the car door.
I closed it relatively quickly after I got out, so I didn't really hear my dad when he spoke again. It sounded something along the lines of 'I love you', but I wasn't really sure. Although, I wasn't really listening in the first place, so even if he had said it while I was still in the car I'm not sure I would have heard.
"Blossomforth Academy, huh." I mumbled under my breath as I walked in. "Great. One of those prestigious stuck-up schools."
The first thing I noticed were the marble floors and expensive chandeliers for lighting. "They sure know how to waste money... Dad probably picked the 'best school in town' or something. He's always worried about me."
I pulled a folded-up piece of paper from my pocket. "Huh.. this says the office should be close to here. I'm supposed to look for a woman named 'Lady Rainicorn.'" My footsteps were quick and light as I walked down the hallway. I didn't like fancy, expensive stuff; this was foreign and unwanted in my eyes.
After what seemed like an eternity of walking and confusion, a delicate hand tapped me on the shoulder. "Miss Marceline?" I turned to see a tall, slender woman with a rainbow-themed outfit on. Simple, bright, gross. "I'm Lady Rainicorn, Miss Rainbow as some of my students prefer to call me. Would you kindly follow me and I'll give you your schedule."
"Uh... sure." I shrugged and followed her to a big room labeled 'OFFICE.' I was walking around it the whole time! She must think I'm mental or something, for missing something so obvious.
I followed her to the back of the office to a small desk labeled 'New Student Center.' I had to stop and wonder how many new students they got in a year, the desk itself didn't look like it had been touched or used in a while.
She handed me a rolled up piece of beige paper. "That's your map, use it to find your way around the school. When the bell rings, you have fifteen minutes to get to your next class."
That was new. At her old school, students had three minutes to get inbetween classes. "If you don't mind me asking, Miss... Rainbow, why so much time?"
"We want to give our students a small chance to get recomposed after each class so they can be active and focused in the next one. Anyways, like I was saying.. Each class is forty-five minutes long. We don't have lunch, students are allowed to go to the cafeteria and get food during any of their fifteen minute breaks."
"We have patios outside some of the activity rooms on the third floor. That floor's for clubs and after-school activities, so you won't need to worry about it for now. Oh, and here's your schedule." I was then given a small white piece of paper with times, locations, and teacher names.
I turned and waved. "Thanks." I quickly glanced at my schedule. "First period is... Band. Sweet."

(I know it's not very long, but it's pretty early where I live and I can't really think straight. DX I just got this idea and wanted to post the first part of it. This is going to be a fairly long story, I have a really big plotline planned for it!)
